Raekwon comming to Bucharest

After the Wu Tang Killa Beez entertained Romania on February 15th, it’s time now for a real general of the Wu Tang Clan to come and sustain a concert in our nation’s capital. Raekwon will be promoting his new LP Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Part 2 and there are not that many tickets abailable. The price of a ticket is 55 RON (about $20) which is pretty much for a simple Romanian to pay, but hey.. if you love hiphop, you do sacrifices. The concert will be on april 5 and i still don’t know if i’ll go or not. At the Killa Beez there were 5 of us going, now nobody knows what to do. Maybe it’s because it wasn’t announced early enough. Anyway, i’ll keep you up to date with this.

Changing themes

The blog is still undergoing tests untill i decide to buy a domain name (and figure what will it be). I’ve been changing the blog themes from a whiule now, from the default WordPress theme, to the Pool one, and now went for Blue Horizon. What do you think of it? I myself like it very much. the problem with me is that i never like to take things as they are. I always find some bugs at every theme that must be modified. well, so far, there were just a few details edited for this one. It suits so well with my tastes!

We Represented

As i said in my last entry, we have our local basketball team. They played today against a former league champion, West Petrom Arad. The game was very pity and very dissapointing, BC Mures scoring only about 52 points, losing by 24..

I was with the supporters encouraging the team as hard as i could but the effort on the court came from 2-3 players. One of them (George Trif – our mvp) got a birthdaycake from the boys before the tipoff as he’s birthday in on march 19th. He was very impressed by this, and he did played very good.

BC Mures, our Team

I’m not sure if i mentioned this before, but our town has its very own professional basketball team. They oplay in the first division and currently they are on the last place. If BC Mures mentains their place on the last position, they’ll be retrograded in an inferior division.

Yesreday me, and a part of the supporters were there for the team’s practice. We also talked with the team management about the situation and things are not bright at all. The most important issue is the money. Players don’t get payed, don’t have contracts, they have jobs, famillies and the only reason they play is because they love basketball. We were told that there have been situations when a player to ask from the coach about $10 to leave a week with them. I just can’t imagine what effort could have been made in order to bring 3 american players to save the team. Two of them are Americans (Terry Cooper and Gerald Cannon) while the other one (Dwayne Burton) is Canadian. Later on, we got to meet the coach and the players. Touching moment :)

In spite of the poor game this team has, the arena is always full. If you are late by 10 minutes you might not find an open seat. Our town loves the team. Our town loves basketball. The local authorities are not interested in helping the team. Doesn’t this sound ridiculous? Can’t BC Mures find a sponsor? I mean there are at least 2000 people everytime the team plays, plus the game is re-lived on our local TV station. It’s sad. Me, with the other fans decided to raise some funds for buying a domain name and a host, and to create an official website for the team. They really need all the help they can get, and we, as supporters must be there for them. I also talked with some peoples about sponsorships and who knows, i have hopes they’ll throw a helping hand.

For the next game, against one of the best teams in the league (WestPetrom Arad) i have a special coregrafy for the gallery.. inspirated from Game 1 of the 1995 semifinals between the Knicks and Pacers. I also have a few more ideas that i want to put in practice, the only thing i worry about is time.

Been in hospital

I was out all this week from mnday to friday, hospitalized in Cluj at the military hospital. I was sent there because i have to clear my military status (although the last draft will be in october 2006, and i still have a year of school). To those who are not familiar with the Romanian military system, it was compulsory for everyone, but starting with 2007 it will be suspended.

The hospital building where i stood it was very raw, but thank God it was warm. In my room there were three other boys, 2 of them were soldiers and the other one worked for the SPP i don’t know exactly the equivalent of the american term but we got along wonderfull.. too bad none of them are familliar with the internet, but we exchanged phone numbers and promissed to keep in touch.

And because hospitals are so boring, i bringed a book from home, abot the Mob from Italy, Russia, Japan, China, etc, a book based on true events. The book is named “Falcone Connection” and it was written by Giorgio Cajati. I recommend it to everyone.

On the good ship lollypop

On the goo-oo-ood ship Lollypop
It’s a swee-ee-eet trip to a candy shop
Where bon-bons play
On the sunny beach of Peppermint Bay

Lemona-a-ade stands everywhere
‘Cross the de-e-eck spans belly air
And there you are
Happy landing on a chocolate bar

See the sugar bowl do the Tootsie roll
With the big bad Bell’s Fruit Cake
If you eat too much, ooh-ooh
You’ll awake with a tummy ache

On the goo-oo-ood ship Lollypop
It’s a ni-i-ice trip into bed you’ll hop
And dream away
On the good ship lollypop

On the goo-oo-ood ship lollypop
It’s a swee-ee-eet trip to a candy shop
Where bon-bons play
On the sunny beach of Peppermint Bay

And dream away (dream away)
On the good ship lollypop

You’ll awake with a tummy ache

On the goo-oo-ood ship lollypop
It’s a nice trip into bed you’ll hop
And dream away on the good ship lollypop

I’ve been thinking about radurosca.com, radynet.com.. mmm.. i’m out of ideas..
