Ok, this was something too special

Don’t even know how to start.. i guess the beggining should be the proper way to do it. We should have been 10 people going to Cluj for Hiphop Nation, it turned out to be just 4. We took the 7.33 am train and we arrived at 11 am. After the regular visits in the stores and the malls, chilling in Matei square we decided to go on the toy aisle at Central store and take some pics with some nice plush animals.

The show was set to start at 9 pm, but the first of the 17 bands entered the stage only after 2 hours. What happened in the first hour was kinda lame, and not necesarily because the boys were not good, but some of them wanted to prove how man they are and how much they can drink, managing to ruin the show for their friends. I really couldn’t watch so i stepped outside for a while. I met a friend from the upper side of the country, really cool boy, i only knew him from the forums i’m onto. Noticeble facts were the performences of troups such as TVP crew, DJ Wicked and Anexa 1.

Finally, the Show itself started when legends Piele and Deceneu entered the stage, with DJ Dox on the turntables. They entertained the crowd for about an hour, with old songs on Gangstarr instrumentals. It was magnificent, i cannot describe in words what i felt .. everyone was singing with them loud & clear in spite of the heat caused by the unventilated room, making the sweat come out after just 5 minutes of sitting there.

They were all really friendly, and the shocking part was after the show when Deceneu stopped outside to chat with the fans.. he basically had a discourse, everyone was affraid even to ask him something, the man is a freaking legend. He made it sound very touching when he talked about his life and about his deceptions he had with the record companies. He also said that he has no possesions, no radio, no TV, except for a computer. He retired from the ‘business’ a couple of times, last time 2 years ago when he was basically crushed by the jerks from Urban Records.. what surprised us all was his airness, wasn’t embarassed or constrained to talk about anything, and with who.. a bunch of kids…

Much respect DECENEU!

Much respect Piele!

Welcome BACK!

Back to Cluj

This saturday, for Hiphop Nation2. Not sure how many of us will be present there, but from what i counted we’ll be about 7. The main event will be the return of two of the greatest MCs from Romania, Piele & Deceneu, members of the Getto Daci band.

Till then, this thursday i’ll be present at felSziget 2006 (a replica of the sziget festival from Hungary) to see Vama Veche and Parazitii. Hopefully me and Paula will find some ballers to start a basketball team for the felSziget tournament

Groove Armada – My friend

Lyrics courtesy of lyricsdownload.com

Whenever I’m down
I call on you my friend
A helping hand you lend
In my time of need

Whenever I’m down
I call on you my friend
(I call on you my friend)
(I call on you my friend)

Listen..

Whenever I’m down
I call on you my friend
A helping hand you lend
In my time of need

Whenever I’m down
I call on you my friend
(I call on you my friend)
(I call on you my friend)

Whenever I’m down
And all that’s going on
Is really going on
Just one of those days (and ju-h..)

You say the right things
To keep me moving on
To keep me going strong
(going strong)
(going strong)

Whenever I’m down

Ain’t nobody
(body)
Ain’t nobody
(body)

Whenever I’m down
I call on you my friend
A helping hand you lend
In my time of need

Whenever I’m down
I call on you my friend
(I call on you my friend)
(I call on you my friend)

Whenever I’m down
And all that’s going on
Is really going on
Just one of those days (and ju-h..)

You say the right things
To keep me moving on
To keep me going strong
(going strong)
(going strong)

Whenever I’m down
I call on you my friend
A helping hand you lend
In my time of need

Whenever I’m down
I call on you my friend
(I call on you my friend)
(I call on you my friend)

(Whenever I’m down)
(I call on you…)
(Whenever I’m down)
(I call…)

Ain’t nobody
(body)
Ain’t nobody
(body)

Listen
Listen

Trip to Turda

There’s a time of the year when i always return to my college roots, the place where we (i) used to do our summer practice each year starting with 2002. This was my 5th straight year at Turda and although i didn’t stay for the two weeks like i used to do when i was still in college, just over one night the experience is always unique.

This year i took Paula with me (we should have been more, the old crew – Bisi, Arminiu, Laura, etc – could’t or didn’t wanted to make it). We got there at about 10 am saturday morning and as soon as we arrived we changed closed and headed to Turda’s Quay. The long walk, of at least 15 kilometers one way, the 4 kilometers of visiting the caves and the places, and the other 15 kilometers on our way back completely vanished our powers. It was nice though, one the way there, a couple of the youngsters from the first year recognized my Frazier jersey haha, that was nice :P

When we got back, we ate at a fancy and unexpensive restaurant (don’t recall the last time i ate that good) and went to visit the ancient Roman fortress from Potaissa (the latin name of Turda). Everytime you visit those place you get that feeling you had when you were there for the first time, that’s what i like about that town. We didn’t made it to the candyshop where they serve the biggest cakes, and the best.. maybe next time :)

4th of July :: Yawn & Spooke concert

This is going to be our first concert Hiphop that we manage to organize here in Tg. Mures. We’re pretty proud to ourselves but the thumbs-up goes to my boy Sauce who busted his ass to get a place that could host them.

Yawn & Spooke Concert :: 4th of July 2006 :: Club Red District, Tg. Mures

If you live in the area and like the poetry, you mustn’t miss this event! I’ll meet you there ;)

Hacking-myself

I got hacked my self few days ago. When i tried to install my new vBulletin for the knicksonline.com forums, i accidentally deleted the blog tables from the database. I went to the hosting support to ask for a database backup and they said i must pay $50.. damn.. i really didn’t had those money..

Lucky me i had a backup from april, so i restored the blog. So how come i recovered all ther posts? Well, the great thing about knowing the internet well is knowing how search engines work. I went to the google/msn cache of my blog and i think i recovered all the posts. I copied them o a notepad and then reposted them keeping the postdata intact
