Happy New Year!

This will probably be my last entry of 2006 on the blog, i’m going away tomorrow (or depending when the funerals of my teacher will be) at a cabin to celebrate the coming of 2007. In case we won’t see each other again, i want you to have a Happy New Year, and may 2007 bring us more joy, more health and why not, more money haha :)

PEACE 06!!

Death strikes again

What’s up with all this world.. so many people died this past week.. James Brown, president Gerald R Ford.. and this morning one of my teachers at the University of Petru Maior passed away. Professor Grigore Ploiesteanu taught us modern history, and was one of the brightest minds i have ever met. One of the top guys from the history department.. a man that was so deep into history and teaching that he was actually visualizing those moments with his eyes closed and his head close to the desk, that’s how much passion he was putting.. Rest In Peace..

King of soul, James Brown dies

The image “http://www.frontrowking.com/concerts/james%20brown/james_brown.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

James Brown, a man that needs no more presentation, one of the biggest artists of the past 50 years, dies today.. he was 73. Rest in peace..
Of all his songs, the one that touches me the most is called “It’s a man’s, man’s, man’s world”

This is a man’s world
This is a man’s world
But it wouldn’t be nothing
Nothing without a woman or a girl
You see man made the car
To take us over the road
Man made the train
To carry the heavy load
Man made the electric light
To take as out of the dark
Man made the boat for the water
Like Noah made the ark
This is a man’s man’s man’s world
But it wouldn’t be nothing
Nothing without a woman or a girl

Man thinks about the little betty baby girl
And the baby boys
Man makes them happy
Cause man made them toys
And after man made everyhing
Everything he can
You know that man makes money
To buy from other men
This is a man’s world
But it wouldn’t be nothing
Nothing not one little thing
Without a woman or a girl

He’s lost in the wilderness
He’s lost in bitterness

End of year at BC Mures

Ok, the first part of the season has ended for BC Mures, our team finishing with 6 wins and 7 losses. Not that good considering that as of today we are not a playoff seed anymore and that we didn’t win any road game, although we had a few really good chances if there weren’t for the refs. They did managed to win all the home games (except for this last one) which is a great performance judging from what they played last year when they had only win 2 (or 3?) games the whole season.

Anyway, there are still playoff hopes, i’m more then sure that we will win on the road eventually and maybe get in the playoffs as an 6 seed. Congratulations to all the team, they truly made a whole town happy.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all from the BC Mures staff (coach, players, yadda yadda) and a safe trip to Troy, Bryan and Cooley!

I’ll see you guys in 2oo7 !

Yahoo Messenger 8.1

Yahoo just released the new version of the Yahoo Messenger. An upgrade to the previous version, and what i like about this new one are the new sounds. For example when you receive a BUZZ!! you don’t jump from your chair especially when you’re concentrated to something and your speakers are turned up.

New in Romania’s Press

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/1017/cotidianulax6.jpg

For the first time as i read yesterday, a newspaper has given on today’s number besides the paper a DVD film. It’s Cum mi-am petrecut sfarsitul lumii or How i spent the end of the world, a Romanian production directed by Catalin MITULESCU. I haven’t got the chance to see it yet, but from what i read it’s a really good movie, one of the best Romanian films of this decade, being about how a 7 year old who got us rid of Ceausescu and a 17 year old teenager could decide her future. The best thing about all this was the price, only 6 ron, when in stores a movie on dvd support can be bought with 30-40 ron.

Later edit 16/12/2006 23:58

Just saw the film. It was great, and not because of the action, but because of the feeling it transmitted. This is the big difference between the European film and the American one. The first one is an art, the other one is an industry. Besides that, i got to live my first 6 years during the communism regime and i got overwhelmed by emotions and by a nostalgic feeling. Come to think about it, i wasn’t any older than that kid in the movie, Lalalilu . Anyway, I recommend this movie to anyone. It’s definitely not a waste of time ;)
